Product Description

Peperomia orba is upright and bushy with succulent, lightly hairy, gray-green leaves. These evergreen and easy-to-grow houseplants may be either rosette-forming or erect with trailing stems. Though peperomia produce greenish-white, panicle-like flower spikes, they are grown primarily for their foliage. These plants may be grown outside as a ground cover. They require bright indirect light indoors but also tolerate low light. Water moderately during summer and sparingly during winter with water that is room temperature. Fertilize monthly with a balanced fertilizer. Part of the reason for Peperomia’s popularity is that it’s such an easy indoor plant. Plus, you don’t need a lot of room to grow it beccause it’s one of the better small houseplants.

    Instructions for planting:

  • Grow peperomia in a medium or bright spot to keep the plant happiest.
  • Choose a container that is deep and large enough to allow root development and growth.
  • All containers should have drainage holes.
  • Fill container about halfway full that will allow plants, when planted, to be just below the rim of the pot.
  • Carefully loosen the root ball and place the plant in the hole.
  • If the plant is extremely root bound, separate roots with fingers.
  • Continue filling in soil and water thoroughly.
  • Protect the plant from direct sun until stable.
    Instructions for care:

  • When growing a Peperomia, locate the plant in a medium to low light situation away from direct sun.
  • Do not over-water these plants. Watering every 7 – 10 days should be enough.
  • You don’t really need to fertilize peperomias, but if you’d like these houseplants to grow a little faster you can fertilize it from time to time.
  • Because peperomias don’t grow very fast, you don’t need to worry about pruning them.
