Product Description
This is a curious member of the Sunflower family. Curtain creeper finds it difficult to climb without support. So, the slender stems climb up and then fall down beautifully over a wall or railing. Plant is named Curtain Creeper because the stems are hanging down and form a curtain. This creeper is easy to grow and is commonly seen hanging over walls in cities. Very suitable to make curtain-like partitions in a garden. It can be used for making topiaries too.
Instructions for planting:
- Curtain creeper seeds grow easily.
- You can propagate it using cuttings from an old plant with very little trouble.
- Prepare a rooting medium of coarse sand.
- Work in enough water so the medium is moist.
- Snap off a section of the growing tip of Curtain creeper.
- Choose a section that is several inches long.
- Pinch off the leaves from the lower half of the cutting and stick it upright into the prepared rooting medium.
- Push it into the rooting medium to about half its length.
- Place the cuttings far enough apart so their leaves do not overshadow one another.
- Cover the container with plastic wrap after water the cuttings.
- Place the rooting container in a bright location, but out of direct sunlight.
- Transplant the cutting into a flowerpot filled with moist potting soil when it has an inch or so long roots.
- After a few weeks, when the plant is stable in the pot, transplant it outdoors.

- Curtain creeper is a carefree plant.
- The vine is remarkably versatile and vigorous.
- It will grow thicker and more lush with annual fertilizer and shearing.
- Occasional pruning is a part of curtain creeper maintenance.
- Annual trimming will help keep it to a size that is manageable.
- Remove any broken stems from the main plant.
- The plant will bloom with green inconspicuous flowers which turn into round ball-like fruits which are highly toxic and you should cut them off.
