Product Description

Curry Leaves or Meetha Neem is the Indian subcontinent native plant with aromatic leaves. It can be grown in pots or ground at home. It is a must add ingredient in the recipe of South Indian curry. It is used in cooking to enhance flavors and aroma. It has elongated, beautiful, aromatic and glossy leaves and grows up to 5-6 meters tall. Curry Leaves or Meetha Neem produces fragrant flowers which are white in color.
It comes in three distinct varieties:

  • Regular – It grows fast and high and appears same as curry leaves are available in the market.
  • Dwarf – Its leaves are long and it does not grow high.
  • Gamthi – It has thick and smaller leaves. It grows slowly but leaves are most fragrant
    Instructions for planting:

  • It can be grown from a stem or seeds but requires 1-2 years to establish from seedlings
  • If directly planting a small tree, then plant it in a big container
  • Do not disturb roots while planting, plant it carefully
    Instructions for care:

  • Between watering, allow the plant to dry fully
  • Use home made fertilizer. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of common salt into 1 liter of water and sprinkle it around roots once in every three weeks. It helps Curry leaves plant to grow well
  • In winter, reduce watering to avoid root rot
  • Small and young curry leaves plant do not let in direct sunlight during summer. Do not keep it in wet soil for longer
  • When they are young, pinch the tips of branches to have various branches. It will help to produce more curry leaves.
